在美国芝加哥，我走访了几个中国家庭，见到了他们的生活状况，也见到了他们的孩子。我见到的这几家都很重视孩子的中文学习，孩子们英语汉语均好，有两个上高中的男孩子，都是在国内上了一两年小学才出国的，他们这两家在芝加哥已经买了房，这两个孩子都是一个人一个卧室，卧室内有一个卫生间、浴室，一个人一台电脑，这两个男孩儿在学校学习很好，其中一个除了学习好，小提琴也拉的挺棒；另外一个男孩在芝加哥拜师学国画、书法，我看到他的卧室墙壁上贴的国画和汉字书法都是有一定基础的。
上海来芝加哥的一个小女孩儿，七岁来美国，现在在芝加哥读小学四年级，她的英语汉语都一样流利，那天是个星期天，我在公园里带我的小外孙女玩儿，见她和她的美国同学（和她年纪差不多的一个小女孩儿）在公园的长椅子上摆了一些她们读过的书、旧发卡等在那儿卖，她们在物品上都标了价。她们还送了我外孙女一个发卡，那天我看到她们卖出去了一本旧书，卖了一美元，是一个小女孩儿要买，她妈妈就给买了。
有的中国小孩儿在美国出生，英语比汉语流利，家长还是希望孩子英语汉语都通，有的家长每周还把孩子送到中文学校学几个小时中文。

Some children were born in the USA, their English was more fluent than Chinese , their parents yet hoped their children toknow bi-language, and some parents sent their children to the chinese school for hours chinese learning every week.
